Inside a century-old firehouse in Hudson Square, Manhattan, two balloon sculptures stood guard — a custom firefighter character and Marshall from Paw Patrol, both built by hand by our team. Here's how it came together.
The New York City Fire Museum at 278 Spring Street is one of Manhattan's most unique and beloved venues. Housed in the original quarters of FDNY's Engine Company No. 30 — a beautifully preserved 1904 firehouse between Varick and Hudson Streets — it's a space with genuine history, character, and soul. When it comes to hosting a kids' event in this building, the setting practically begs for something spectacular to match it.

A fully custom firefighter balloon sculpture — built and installed at the NYC Fire Museum, 278 Spring Street, Hudson Square, Manhattan. Every detail handcrafted by our team. 🎈
This life-size firefighter character was built from scratch — a printed face balloon, a sculpted red helmet with a gold accent, a full red uniform body, extended arms, and a bold black base to anchor it all. Standing at full character height inside the museum's grand firehouse space, it was impossible to miss and immediately set the tone for the event.
The setting made it all the more powerful. A handcrafted balloon firefighter, standing inside an actual 1904 FDNY firehouse, surrounded by real fire engines and genuine FDNY history. For the kids in that room, it wasn't just a balloon sculpture — it was a character come to life.
🏛️ About the venue: The NYC Fire Museum is located at 278 Spring Street in Hudson Square — one of Manhattan's most distinctive neighborhoods, nestled between SoHo, Tribeca, and the West Village. The firehouse dates to 1904 and operated as an active FDNY station before becoming the museum. It's a stunning event space that carries real weight, and our balloon installations are always designed to complement the architecture, not compete with it.

If the firefighter character was the history nod, Marshall was the moment every kid lost their mind. Built in stunning detail — white and black Dalmatian body, red Paw Patrol uniform with the paw badge, red fire chief hat, and those unmistakable blue eyes — this sculpture was a full character recreation in balloon form.
