Twenty-five feet of organic rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet — rising from white bases inside the LaGuardia College gym in Queens. Built for a community that deserved something truly beautiful.
The Lavender Graduation is a cherished ceremony celebrated by LGBTQ+ students and allies across college campuses — a dedicated recognition of their achievements, their identity, and their community. When Queens' own LaGuardia Community College held their Lavender Graduation, our team was honored to be part of it — building a 25-foot organic rainbow balloon arch that filled the gym with color and meaning.
Every color intentional. Every balloon placed by hand. The full rainbow — red through violet — flowing in an organic style from white cloud-like bases on either side. It's one of the most visually striking arches we've ever built, and it was made for one of the most meaningful events we've ever decorated.

About the Arch: 25 Feet of Organic Rainbow
This wasn't a standard color-band arch. The organic style means balloons of varying sizes are packed together in a loose, flowing arrangement — no rigid rows, no uniform sizing. The result is a lush, cloud-like structure that looks alive, especially when the colors blend naturally from one into the next across the full rainbow spectrum.
At 25 feet wide, this arch filled the entire width of the gym wall — an enormous, joyful statement that made the space feel transformed the moment you walked in. The white bases on either side ground the arch and give it a clean, finished look that works beautifully against a plain white gym wall.
🌈 Why organic arches work so well for Pride and Lavender events: The organic style — with its irregular balloon sizes and free-flowing clusters — mirrors the spirit of inclusivity and individuality. The tradition began in the 1990s and has spread to colleges and universities across the country, including right here in Queens, NYC.
